Norwell, MA Habeeb & Associates Architects (H&A) has added five new team members to its Norwell and Worcester offices. Adam Royle joins H&A as an intern-architect. A recent graduate of Roger Williams University with a master of architecture, Royle was an executive board member of the University’s American Institute of Architecture

Waltham, MA Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects (GRLA) was selected by Mercy BioAnalytics Inc. (Mercy) to renovate its new 14,000 s/f office and laboratory space. Since 2018, Mercy has been dedicated to saving lives through detecting early-stage cancer, when therapy has the best opportunity for clinical impact.

Boston, MA Kripper Studio has been engaged by the mayor’s office of housing, the firm’s second project with the city. Kripper Studio is engaged to produce a study of city-owned land and an accompanying policy guide to contribute to the ongoing exploration of alternative ways to reduce the city’s housing shortage.

The mission at MIT’s Haystack Observatory in Westford is to study the structure of our galaxy and the larger universe, to advance scientific knowledge of the planet and atmosphere, to enhance technology development to serve radio and space science, and to contribute to the education of the next generation.

Harvard, MA According to Maugel DeStefano Architects, Angela Gallucci has joined the firm as the director of business development. In her new role, Gallucci will cultivate new business opportunities and strengthen existing relationships with clients across the firm’s core markets.

Boston, MA The Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB) held its PRISM awards ceremony and presented Feinmann, Inc. with Gold and Silver awards. The event, held this year at the Boston Museum of Science, recognizes the finest projects and outstanding achievements of home building professionals.

Boton, MA Suffolk has established its Suffolk Sustainability Group and hired respected sustainability thought leaders to meet its ambitious goal to lead the nation in sustainable planning throughout the entire building lifecycle. Steven Burke will serve as senior director of sustainability for Suffolk and Michael Swenson will assume the role of director of sustainability

In 2023, demand for distribution and warehouse space stabilized nationwide as a backlog of space from pandemic record highs hit the market and financing became more difficult. However, key regions like New England have continued to see an active industrial market with ongoing demand and low vacancy rates.

Though it feels like the year just started a few weeks ago, somehow this will be my final message as ABC MA chair. I’m honored to serve as our chapter’s first female chair, and to have that honor in the same year that Maura Healey, the first woman elected governor of Massachusetts, assumed office.
