Vantage Builders raises $35,000 with third annual fore Charity Golf Classic

Franklin, MA Vantage Builders, Inc. hosted its third annual Vantage Builders fore Charity Golf Classic tournament, with 92 golfers taking part in the shotgun tournament held at Franklin Country Club on August 12th. This year’s tournament raised $35,000 for a cause that is very close to the firm. The proceeds are helping to fund a 529 education savings plan that was established to support the son of long-time Vantage teammate Tim Yarnell, who tragically and unexpectedly passed away earlier this year. A devoted husband and father, dedicated family man and friend, Tim was one of Vantage Builders’ superintendents, a role he held for 12 years. He was also an amazing athlete in wrestling, baseball and football, and an avid golfer.

Vantage would like to thank the generous sponsors, particularly the lead sponsors: Above All Epoxy Flooring; Alternative Creative Energy & HVAC; Griffin Greenhouse Supplies; IT Solutions; MEC Electrical Contractors; and Zahara Cannabis.

The tournament’s additional sponsors included Bella Construction Company; Casella Waste Systems; Caveney Architectural Collaborative; ControlAir Systems; E.J. Callahan & Associates; Encore Fire Protection; Facilico; Full Harvest Moonz; LG Tech MSP; Masiero Woodworks; Maugel DeStefano Architects; Middlesex Savings Bank; North Eastern Services; Ruberto, Israel & Weiner; Sanctuary Medicinals; Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage; STV; Superior Contracting Services; Thomas J. Kennedy Plumbing, Heating & HVAC; Twelve Points Wealth Management; Vanderweil Engineers; and Woodruff Sawyer.

Companies generously donating raffle items included: Amanda Lynn Photography; Hilliards Chocolates; North Eastern Services; Paddle Boston; Tree House Brewing Company; and the Worcester Red Sox.

The senior management team at Vantage Builders would like to thank Allie Silva, the firm’s engagement manager and office manager, for her excellent work in organizing this year’s event! Planning is already underway for Vantage Builders’ fourth annual fore Charity Golf Classic.

If you are interested in sponsoring next year’s tournament, please email forecharity@vb-inc.com.

“Tim was one of the nicest, funniest people to work at Vantage and everyone at the firm misses him a great deal,” said Ed Silva, principal, Vantage Builders. “The day was bittersweet: we missed Tim on the course this year, but we were truly humbled by the tremendous display of support that was shown for the Yarnell family. We cannot thank the donors and golfers enough for their generosity.”

“Tim really loved being part of the Vantage family and he made so many good friends at the company and throughout the construction industry,” said Mandy Yarnell, Tim’s wife. “He truly would have been blown away by the generosity of everyone involved with the tournament, as I certainly am. I’d like to thank everyone involved from the bottom of my heart.”

Special thanks to Patrick Rogers Photography.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.

The industrial markets have never been stronger. What has happened is that the build out of Devens with new high-tech biotech manufacturing with housing to service these buildings serves as the connector required to really make the I-495 West market sizzle. Worcester has been the beneficiary
