MorrisSwitzer ~ Environments for Health designs $15 million cancer center

Springfield, MA Mercy Medical Center recently opened the Sister Caritas Cancer Center which consolidated outpatient cancer care programs into one collaborative space. MorrisSwitzer ~ Environments for Health designed the $15 million, 26,000 s/f renovation and expansion which improves the patient experience by increasing privacy and creating a calm, nurturing environment. The construction manager was Daniel O’Connell’s Sons Inc.

The new Medical Oncology Treatment space includes 32 spacious infusion bays and 2 private infusion rooms featuring personal televisions and accommodations for supporting family members or friends. The Medical Oncology Clinic provides 12 calming exam rooms designed with a natural palette of colors, and support space for physician-led collaborative treatment teams which aim to address the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of patients.
