Project of the Month: Connolly Brothers progressing on three automobile dealerships for PRIME Motor Group - $20 million project

Westwood, MA Connolly Brothers is proud to be partnering again with PRIME Motor Group as they continue expanding their brand and market presence with three new automobile dealerships on Rte. 1. The Audi, Acura, and Porsche dealerships are being constructed on a 12 acre site adjacent to the Prime Mercedes of Westwood dealership and will have a combined square footage of over 128,000 s/f. The project included demolition and removal of two dated warehouse buildings totaling over 170,000 s/f.POM Prime Westwood South

Connolly was responsible for the design and engineering of the $20 million project and worked closely with the respective national automobile brand representatives and PRIME to produce construction documents that satisfied both branding and budget requirements. Tight time constraints  presented significant design challenges as each manufacturer had its own specific design intent. The Connolly design team led by Harry Samolchuk and Matt Lawton collaborated with PRIME and the manufacturers to achieve the shared goals of all parties. Currently, Connolly is providing construction management services for the building of the facilities as well as architectural and engineering contract administration to ensure the highest level of quality control.

“This project is incredibly important to us because it highlights our model as a true design/build construction manager – and exemplifies the full range of services we are capable of delivering to our customers. Not only was our design team responsible for producing construction documents, but our construction team is now managing the construction work. It is particularly important to us as it continues a long lasting relationship with PRIME Motor Group – a relationship that has spanned many years and many projects. We are thrilled to continue this relationship and utilize this model which has helped us and PRIME succeed project after project,” said Jay Connolly, vice president.

When completed, these dealerships will be the eighth, ninth and tenth facilities that Connolly and PRIME have collaborated on to date and they look forward to many more successful projects with the dedicated people of PRIME.

The project team included: • Construction Manager/Architect: Connolly Brothers, Inc. • Civil Engineer: Kelly Engineering Group, Inc. • Drywall: Eastern Interior Construction • Sitework: Anchor Excavating, Inc. • Electrical: Commercial Electrical Solutions • Metal Panel System: CEI Composite
