Wyeth Cambridge named recipient of ABC's Eagle and Green Awards - Abbot Building Restoration played key role in construction team

According to Abbot Building Restoration, Delphi Construction has received the prestigious Eagle and Green Award for Residential Construction by the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. of Massachusetts for work on The Wyeth Cambridge. As a key member of the construction team, Abbot performed extensive masonry restoration of the building facades. The award was presented at the 22nd Annual Excellence in Construction Awards dinner, which honors the best work performed by the more than 400 members of the construction trade group. The Wyeth Cambridge was previously home to The Saint John School, an essential piece of North Cambridge life for over 100 years. After nearly a decade of neglect, Broder Properties LLC, a local real estate developer, undertook a 2-year project to convert the properties into a beautifully landscaped 63-unit luxury residential campus. The scope of Abbot's work included cleaning of the brick, repointing of the brick joints, and caulking the windows and doors after installation. Significantly, Abbot had new pre-cast stones fabricated to match the original stones in color and texture, and researched and located a new brick that matched the original brick. The awards dinner was held on November 19, 2014 in the Granite Links Ballroom in Quincy. WHDH television political reporter, Andy Hiller, emceed the event. Award winners were selected by an independent panel of judges, each a leader in the architect/engineer/contractor industry. Sixteen companies were honored in a variety of categories. "These projects represent state-of-the-art in construction," said ABC Massachusetts president Greg Beeman. "The companies should be justifiably proud of their achievements. Work of this caliber is helping to raise the standards of excellence throughout the construction industry." Abbot provides a broad range of masonry construction services to public, institutional, and commercial clients, including condominiums, property management entities, and private residences. The firm also acts as a general contractor for a variety of masonry building construction projects. ABC is a national construction industry trade association representing nearly 21,000 chapter members. Founded on the merit shop philosophy, ABC and its 70 chapters help members develop people, win work and deliver that work safely, ethically, profitably, and for the betterment of the communities in which ABC and its members work.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
