Vision 3 Architects to design Children's Friend $1.5 million expansion/renovation
Children's Friend plans a $1.5 million expansion and renovation of its Friendship Center location at 350 Point St.
The project includes a 1,500 s/f expansion for a lobby, additional meeting rooms and a secure reception area. The renovations to the building will include a sprinkler system, a new fire alarm system, private offices, record room, additional bathrooms, new classroom doors and an expanded food preparation area.
The organization plans to start construction next spring and undertake most of the work during the summer. Renovations are planned for completion in the fall.
"With the expansion and upgrade projects, this facility will better serve local children and their families," the agency said in a news release.
Design for the project will be provided by Vision 3 Architects.
