The Kensington installs an electric car charging station in garage - compliments its LEED Gold certification

The Kensington, a 27-story, 381-unit apartment tower located at 665 Washington St., has installed a complimentary electric car charging station, adding yet another unique feature to its already impressive amenities package. The addition of the car charging station is the community's latest example of its commitment to provide an environmentally friendly atmosphere for its residents, and compliments its LEED Gold Ccertification. Manufactured by ChargePoint, the charging station was installed in the on-site, resident parking garage. Featuring universal charging capabilities, the free eco-friendly service can accommodate all electric car models. In the event that additional stations are needed/desired, the garage has been pre-wired to accommodate future stations for residents to enjoy. Members of the community have already begun taking advantage of the convenient and functional amenity. "Not only is the ChargePoint charging station convenient, functional, and easily accessible, but it also re-enforces the eco-friendly environment that we value at The Kensington," said Drew Boujoulian, resident services manager at The Kensington. "As the popularity of electric vehicles increases, our community is committed to installing additional stations for our eco-conscious residents." As a LEED Gold certified building, the property already implements multiple green-initiatives including energy efficient lighting and water source heat pumps, Energy Star appliances, solar shade window coverings, low-flow plumbing fixtures, recycled glass countertops, single stream recycling containers, and low VOC paint. Attention to detail and resident's needs are also on display in the community's one and two bedroom, and penthouse floor plans featuring expansive windows, high-ceilings, and oak hardwood flooring. Boasting a premier amenity package, residents of The Kensington enjoy over 28,000 s/f of free amenity space including a fitness center and yoga studio, business center and coffee bar, game room complete will billiards tables, multiple meeting rooms, an outdoor pool, pet spa equipped with professional doggie baths, a solarium, and a quiet E-Lounge to kick back and escape the hectic pace of everyday life. Additionally, residents are offered professional 24-hour concierge service, dry cleaning and laundry, car cleaning and detailing, free bike storage, in-unit package delivery, and monthly resident events. Currently leased at 98%, The Kensington provides a sought-after location in downtown Boston and convenient access to Downtown Crossing and the Financial District, as well as Beacon Hill, the South End, and Back Bay. Surrounded by numerous restaurants, movie theatres, specialty foods/markets, hotels, and entertainment options, the beautiful community is a top living destination in the market for area professionals.
