Project of the Month: John M. Corcoran and Company's $18.2 million Commons on the Green welcomes residents at SouthField

John M. Corcoran and Company held the opening of The Commons on the Green, a new one-of-a-kind residential community. Consisting of 72 new apartment homes, the $18.2 million, LEED-certified multifamily building is located at SouthField, a smart growth community, within 1/3 mile from the South Weymouth Station on the Commuter Rail, featuring more than 1,000 acres of conservation, open and recreational space. "The Commons on the Green represents a step forward in the transformation of the former Naval Air Station into one of the South Shore's most desirable neighborhoods," said Rick High, president of John M. The Commons on the Green's 72 designer apartment homes offer a range of stylish and luxurious eco-friendly features, including bamboo wood flooring and granite countertops. The smoke-free community is a sustainable building design and LEED Certified. Residents enjoy an array of amenities, including a Wi-Fi Café with outdoor patio, a saltwater swimming pool, a rooftop sundeck and grilling area, a poolside grill, a fire pit, a fitness center, a clubroom and a game room. The Commons on the Green and its sister property, The Commons at Southfield Highlands, are located 25 minutes south of Boston, is minutes from Rte. 3 and a short walk from the MBTA's South Weymouth Commuter Rail Station.
