Boston, MA Olshan Properties’ one-year-old Canopy by Hilton Boston Downtown, which officially opened in March 2022, has been awarded with one of the global hotel brand’s top honors in the branded category of New Build of the Year.

The Hilton Americas Development Awards recognize the achievements of owners, development partners, and hotel teams in the Americas across several categories. These annual awards celebrate the resiliency and commitment of Hilton’s owners and team members who spread the light and warmth of hospitality.

“We are truly honored to accept this award on behalf of our team at the Canopy Boston,” said Zachary Bornstein, president of Olshan Properties. “Since opening last year, the hotel has exceeded our expectations by becoming one of downtown Boston’s most popular destinations. We are tremendously proud of our team and all of their hard work.”

Boston-based CV Properties partnered with Olshan on the construction of the hotel.

“Our development team, including our partner Harbinger Development, invested significant time and resources into this project so it’s extremely rewarding to see how successful the completed hotel has become,” said Richard Galvin, president and founder of CV Properties, LLC.

Located in downtown, the hotel sits within walking distance of local attractions such as Faneuil Hall, the Freedom Trail, and the TD Garden. Hotel amenities include the brasserie-style restaurant Rose Town Kitchen & Bar, which is located on the second floor overlooking the Greenway. With its spacious, open-air view of the neighborhood, the Rose Town Kitchen & Bar has become a go-to brunch, lunch and dinner spot with themed dining events and signature cocktails. In addition, coming soon to the hotel is a much-anticipated Gordon Ramsay Burger restaurant that is set to open this summer.

“Every day, our team provides outstanding customer service and helps to create memorable experiences for all of our guests. We are excited to evolve and build on our success as we welcome a new restaurant offering and other key amenities over the next few months,” said Karyn Marasco, head of hospitality at Olshan Properties.

Ask the Electrician: How do I prepare my commercial building for a disaster?

While power outages are often blamed on storms, they can also be caused by unforeseen events like accidents or construction mishaps. While it’s impossible to prevent disasters and power outages entirely, proactive preparation can significantly minimize their impact on your commercial building.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.

The industrial markets have never been stronger. What has happened is that the build out of Devens with new high-tech biotech manufacturing with housing to service these buildings serves as the connector required to really make the I-495 West market sizzle. Worcester has been the beneficiary
