Nov. 27th Safety Roundtable to cover "what's new" at OSHA

After a series of excellent programs this fall on specific hazards - including electrical safety, and mast climbing procedures - ASM's Safety Committee this month will look at the big picture and host a presentation by OSHA on Nov. 27 reviewing important developments of the past year relating to construction. It will cover the top 10 citations in 2007; causes of recent construction fatalities in Massachusetts and how they could have been prevented; and activities in Washington, including new standards, directives and programs affecting construction. Giving the presentation will be Mary Hoye, area director for OSHA's Springfield Office. The Roundtable takes place 10 a.m. to noon at Eastern Insurance, Natick, and is open to anyone with responsibility for safety on the jobsite. It's free of charge but advance registration is required. Call ASM to sign up.
