Northland progresses with development of The Residences at Black Rock

In January, Northland Residential Corp., a privately held real estate development firm, acquired The Residences at Black Rock, one of the foremost condominium developments in the Northeast. As their first quarter of ownership comes to a close, they outline the project's progress and successes to date. Throughout the course of the last 90 days, Northland Residential has worked to develop comprehensive development, construction, sales and marketing strategies for this community. The firm has established a temporary on-site sales office and model home at 4 Raynor Dr., which will be open six days per week from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. The new sales director, Trish Aaron, is a seasoned real estate professional with over 20 years of experience. Her career reflects exposure to an unusual range of development types ranging from high-end urban projects to newly built, single-family suburban product. Aaron's experience selling $800,000 to $2 million single-family homes at the Andover Country Club makes her a fit for Black Rock. Construction has commenced or continued on several homes, and discussions are underway as to the next phase of the project's development. While construction, sales and marketing efforts seem barely to have begun, Northland has already sold one home, and have placed another under reservation. They are realizing a continued strong market interest in current and future plans. Upon completion, the 357-acre gated community will consist of a total of 138 single-family and attached cottage-style residences. About Black Rock Set against a backdrop of stunning rock out-croppings, wooded hills and protected land bordering the Plymouth River, The Residences at Black Rock surrounds the privately-owned Black Rock Country Club, which features a spectacular 18-hole championship golf course designed by award-winning architect Brian Silva. The community's master plan was expertly conceived and was further enhanced by the structuring of ownership to afford residents a country club lifestyle without the usual cares associated with single-family home ownership.

Recently passed legislation creates opportunities to meet CT’s changing energy needs - by Klein and Feinn

For decades, New England has had a summer-peaking power system, where the greatest energy use occurs on the hottest and most humid days, due to widespread use of air conditioning.
