Northern Rhode Island Board of Realtors honors Mastalerz of C21 Stachurski Agency

Judy Mastalerz

Smithfield, RI The Northern Rhode Island Board of Realtors (NRIBOR) awarded its inaugural Good Neighbor Award to Judy Mastalerz of the Century 21 Stachurski Agency for her work with We Heart Lives on May 27th. Along with the award, NRIBOR made a $1,000 contribution to We Heart Lives in Judy’s name. The Good Neighbor Award recognizes a Realtor who has made an impact on their communities through their volunteer work.

Mastalerz’s commitment to We Heart Lives, a 501(c)3 organization with a mission to strengthen families through school mentorship programs, community events, and by providing food and resources for children, takes the form of volunteering every month with the organization to help further their mission, and a long history of personal financial contributions to the organization.

She has volunteered nearly 140 hours to the organization since January, 2020 and has raised $3,750 to support the 7,800 individuals supported by the organization.

“Her tireless efforts to set up, extend kindness to those who attend to pick up groceries, clothes, and pack food into car trunks has made her a valuable member of our team,” said Kathleen Egersheim, director of We Heart Lives. “Judy’s conviction to help those in Rhode Island who really would have little else is remarkable.”

Local recipients of the Good Neighbor Award, including Mastalerz , are considered for the Rhode Island statewide Good Neighbor Award. State Good Neighbor Award recipients are considered for the National Association of Realtors Good Neighbor Award, with five winners announced each fall in Realtors Magazine. Winners are recognized annually at the Realtors Conference & Expo, and receive $10,000 grants for their charities. Winners also receive travel expenses to the conference and national and local media exposure for their community cause. In addition to the winners, five honorable mentions each receive a $2,500 grant.

“Judy exemplifies what a Realtor should be all about in the community,” said Rob Williamson, 2021 president of the Northern Rhode Island Board of Realtors. “Her commitment to ensuring that the needs of the most vulnerable members of our community is something we should all strive for. Whether it’s helping We Heart Lives run a baby supplies drive, putting together family food boxes or offering resources to local schools, Judy is a shining example that others in the community should strive to follow.”

The Northern Rhode Island Board of Realtors Good Neighbor Award will be awarded on a yearly basis.

The Northern Rhode Island Board of Realtors is a chartered member Board of the National Association of Realtors.
