Luminous Energy Design completes Wachusett Mountain ski area LED lighting retrofit

Princeton, MA  Luminous Energy Design has completed the LED lighting retrofit of all ski trails at Wachusett Mountain ski area.

Luminous Energy Design provided the photometric design, lighting fixtures and controls for the project, while DMH Electric served as the electrical contractor.

All 400W and 1000W metal halide flood lights were retrofitted with 200W and 400W LED flood lights from Luxtronik. Echelon Corp.’s Lumewave wireless control modules and gateways along with the LumInsight Desktop Central Management System were selected for the intelligent networked lighting controls to provide increased control of lighting levels and to create additional energy savings. 

The Wachusett Mountain lighting project qualified for a significant rebate from National Grid with projected energy consumption, from night time trail lighting, being reduced by 1.3M kWh or roughly $176,000 annually.
