IREM to host pest control training June 21 at Belfor Restoration

Wallingford, CT Don’t let pests or termites get the best of your properties. Household pests can be more than a nuisance – they can be a threat to your property and potentially your health. That’s why pest control is so important for your home. Signs of a termite infestation are difficult to spot, and many termites even tunnel hundreds of feet to reach a home or feeding site.

Find out how pest control from Orkin can help solve your pest and termite problems now-and in the future.

Attorney Frank Flynn of The Flynn Law Group, will discuss what a landlord’s legal responsibilities are.

Bed Bugs Really Do Bite

How do bed bug infestations occur? Whose duty is it to exterminate? Bed bugs are small parasites that are approximately ¼ inch in length, vary in color, and feed upon the blood of warm blooded animals, including humans. Typically they’re found in beds, couches, and other furniture where they lie dormant until their victims are asleep. Many landlords wonder what they need to do when a tenant reports bed bugs in their apartment. It is important to take the right type of aggressive actions to promptly address bed bugs or the problem could get worse and become much more difficult to control. In this seminar, Flynn will discuss what a landlord’s legal responsibilities are when faced with bed bugs in an apartment, what a tenant’s legal responsibilities are when bed bugs are found in their apartment, and how a landlord should properly respond to a report of bed bugs.

The seminar will be held June 21st at Belfor Restoration, 30 North Plains Industrial Rd. from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
