Franklin Savings Bank extends $2.99 million to fund renovation

Franklin Savings Bank is financing a $2.99 million project for the town to complete major renovations to the main fire station located in the village of Contoocook. The project is near completion. "As the needs of the fire department grew, space was increasingly becoming a concern for the existing facility to house all the necessary equipment required by the department to handle a variety of emergencies," said Debra Davis Thum, VP, commercial loan officer of Franklin Savings Bank. "After much consideration, the residents voted in favor of having the renovations completed to the main building instead of constructing a new facility elsewhere in town." Located at 9 Pine St., the main fire station was built in 1974 and has not seen any improvements over the years. The renovations will include the construction of a second story as well as a new bay added to the existing structure. The town plans to hold an open house upon completion of the project.
