Fisher of Red Wing Construction elected president of Associated Subcontractors of Massachusetts

Richard Fisher, president of Red Wing Construction, has been elected as president of the Associated Subcontractors of Massachusetts (ASM), the state's leading trade association for the subcontracting industry. Fisher was elected president during ASM's recent biennial dinner gala. He brings 30 years of industry experience at all levels, including private and public sector institutional, commercial and multi-residential construction, as well as real estate development expertise. As a member of ASM's board of directors for the past six years, he has been deeply involved in the association's legislative activity, including its current efforts to cap retainage at 5% on private work. "ASM has been the preeminent organization for subcontractors in Massachusetts for decades, and my goal is for it to become an even more significant presence, and to recognized even further by the legislature, the business community, and the construction industry," Fisher said. "Given the importance of the construction industry to the state's economy, and the critical role that subcontractors play, there's no reason why that can't happen." During his tenure as ASM's president, he plans to maintain his involvement in legislative affairs affecting the construction industry, while strengthening the association's educational and technical assistance programs, and its members' access to business resources. Fisher will serve a two-year term, through 2015.
