Diversified Project Management selected by University of Massachusetts Building Authority to renovate Furcolo Hall at UMass Amherst

Diversified Project Management, Inc. (DPM) has been retained by the University of Massachusetts Building Authority (UMBA) to provide comprehensive oversight of the renovation to Furcolo Hall at the Amherst Campus of the University of Massachusetts. Working with the University of Massachusetts Building Authority, DPM's services will include the management of the planning, design, construction and commissioning process for the renovation of 64,000 s/f of Furcolo Hall and the former teaching wing of the building known as Mark's Meadow Elementary School. The project also includes accessibility and deferred maintenance improvements and will enable the four departments of the College of Education to be co-located. The existing building was built in the early 1960's and included a wing which operated as a public school for the town. Now that the town has decommissioned the school, the university will repurpose it to administration and offices, instructional, and community spaces. Completing this $20 million project will also enable the University to advance other priorities on campus. DPM's Frank Kennedy is the project executive on the project and assisting him is Timothy Singleton, senior project manager. DPM has teamed with Rickes Associates for the study and development of the program. The project is due to complete in the spring of 2015. DPM is an independent owner's representative consulting company that specializes in programming, pre-construction, project management, construction administration, FF&E coordination and move-planning services for corporate, academic, healthcare, manufacturing and biotech clients' construction, renovation and relocation projects.
