Developer Bonvie named to National Association of Home Builder's 50+ council board of trustees

Southport developer and builder Ron Bonvie has been appointed to the board of trustees for the 50+ housing council of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). He joins major developers and builder associates from throughout the United States on one of the most active councils in the national trade association. "This appointment provides an opportunity for me to hear first-hand what is going on in the industry throughout the country and to share with other members of the council the success we are having at Southport," Bonvie said. He has been an active speaker at many national and regional home builder conventions in recent years, providing valuable information on how to successfully build and market active adult communities. Among the national awards Southport has won in recent years are gold and silver awards for Best Home Design, Best Model Merchandising and Best Website for a residential community. In 2013, Southport won the National Gold Award for "Best Home Design in America" from NAHB's 50+ Housing Council. "Ron's expertise and success in developing, building and marketing active adult communities was a major consideration for his selection to the Board of Trustees," said Robert Karen, the chairman of NAHB's 50+ Housing Council.
