CBRE Hotels completes sale of Town & Country Stowe hotel at 876 Mountain Road

Stowe, VT CBRE Hotels has completed the sale of Town & Country Stowe, a 54-room, class A hotel located at 876 Mountain Rd. Located on nine acres along Stowe’s Mountain Rd., leading directly from Stowe village to the ski area at Mt. Mansfield, the recently renovated property was sold by Hotel Sportiva Stowe LLC.

The CBRE team of Dave McElroy and Scott Hutchinson spearheaded the marketing campaign and negotiated the sale transaction on behalf of the seller.

“Town & Country Stowe is a true gem in Stowe, ideally located within walking distance to a deep and diverse array of attractions including retail, restaurants and hiking trails,” said McElroy. “In addition to the 54 well-appointed rooms, current zoning for the land allows for the development of an additional 30 units. Also, given the strength of the lodging and residential markets in the region, the new ownership can create a number of uses including additional guest rooms, for-sale condominiums, or even employee housing.”

The Town & Country is a four-building complex with the main hotel with two additional hotel buildings, a restaurant, two separate hotel buildings, an outdoor pavilion and a stand-alone three-bedroom home for larger parties. All rooms are outfitted with amenities typically found in many upscale hotels. The property also boasts Stowe’s largest outdoor pool and a full basketball court. An ideal location for guests traveling through the region, Town & County is situated directly on the Stowe Recreational Path, a paved pedestrian path designed for walkers, joggers, and cyclists, running parallel to Mountain Road beginning in the village. The close position of the Town & Country to Stowe village puts guests a 15-minute walk to the village past a plethora of restaurants, galleries, and retail offerings, augmenting the amenities offered by the hotel.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
