Caroso joins Margulies Perruzzi Archts. to lead MPA's healthcare studio

Brad Cardoso, AIA, has joined Margulies Perruzzi Architects (MPA), to lead the MPA healthcare studio. In this newly created role, Cardoso will oversee the planning and design of MPA's complex healthcare design projects, with a specific focus on acute care environments and ambulatory clinics. With extensive experience and knowledge of policies, practices and systems within the healthcare field, Cardoso will be responsible for leading design teams employing Lean Design practices and applying advanced planning and architectural techniques. His current projects include work for Winchester Hospital and Reliant Medical Group. MPA specializes in serving clients for whom the workplace is an important part of their business - specifically in the healthcare, corporate, real estate development, professional services, and research/lab communities. The firm's team of talented architects and interior designers use an interactive design approach and cutting-edge technology to integrate the input of those who will use the space into every aspect of the design. Employing a Lean Design process with Building Information Modeling (BIM), MPA's healthcare designs maximize work flow, standard procedures, access, efficiency, and comfort for both patients and medical staff. The firm's healthcare and medical office design work includes the renovation of interior space, building renovations, and new stand-alone buildings. "Brad is a creative and results-oriented architect with a strong track record of achievement in managing complex healthcare and medical office design projects," said Marc Margulies, AIA, LEED AP, principal at MPA. "Like MPA, he strives to build long-term client relationships through a collaborative design process. We are thrilled to add him to the MPA team." Prior to joining MPA, Brad was a senior project architect at DiGiorgio Associates Incorporated (DAI) in Boston, where he was responsible for successful delivery of acute care healthcare projects from planning through construction. In this role, Brad provided design and technical leadership to the project team and managed project and client requirements, systems coordination, zoning and code analysis, and materials specification. His notable projects while at DiGiorgio include LRGHealthcare in Laconia and Franklin, New Hampshire, Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut, Saints Medical Center in Lowell, Massachusetts, and Community Health Connections, Inc. in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Brad received a Bachelor of Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.
