Camber Development and Wheelock achieve 100% occupancy at 85 John Rd.

Canton, MA Camber Development, a Boston-based real estate investor and operator, and Wheelock Street Capital, have achieved 100% occupancy at their 94,000 s/f life sciences and advanced manufacturing property at 85 John Rd. 88 Acres, a national food brand producing seed-based products, will join Underwriters Laboratories and Organogenesis as tenants at the property. CBRE’s Doug Rodenstein, Chelsea Andre, Rachel Marks and Chris Mullen represented both the landlord and tenant.

85 John Rd. will serve as the company’s new production facility and will allow for significant growth coming out of their 7,000 s/f facility in Dorchester. Dacon Corp., a Natick-based general contractor, was selected to oversee the project given their expertise in both industrial and specialized food production facilities. 88 Acres will take occupancy this month.

“Given how incredibly innovative and forward-thinking the 88 Acres team is, it was important for them to partner with a landlord who shares those same qualities and unwavering support for their tenants,” said Rodenstein. “Camber Development was a perfect fit in that regard. This expansion is a major milestone for 88 Acres and will allow them to continue to deliver quality products to their customers and accommodate their fast-paced growth. We couldn’t be happier about being a part of it.”

Katie Speede, the COO of Camber Development, led the 88 Acres project build out and said, “Despite the recent headwinds in the financial markets, we hold an even deeper belief in the strength and resiliency of our tenants and the health of Greater Boston’s manufacturing, life science, and technology industries. We are thrilled to be able to partner with 88 Acres, a dynamic, locally owned brand, to provide the space and support to facilitate their future growth.”

“Moving to 85 John is an exciting milestone for 88 Acres and will enable the business to continue to scale and meet the demand of a broader market of consumers who are interested in allergen-free healthy and delicious foods,” said 88 Acres’ CEO Nicole Ledoux. “It has been a pleasure working with Camber and Dacon to design and build a facility to meet our needs for the next 10 years and beyond.”

88 Acres was co-founded by Ledoux and Rob Dalton, and the company offers allergen-friendly protein bars, seed and oat bars, seed butters, and seed-nola. 88 Acres has been growing rapidly over the last several years, and their products are available at Whole Foods, Sprouts, Stop & Shop, Market Basket, and more than 4,200 grocery stores across the US.
