BOMA Boston hosts Austin Blackmon for monthly Roundtable

On Tuesday, April 28, BOMA Boston hosted a Roundtable discussion with Austin Blackmon, the newly appointed chief of environment, energy & open space for the City of Boston. Blackmon provided an update on the city's environmental efforts to a group of 50 attendees, and shared his priorities within his role. This roundtable was held at Brown Rudnick LLP and was sponsored by Eversource. BOMA's Roundtable Series is a monthly informative series designed to provide information on timely topics of interest to the commercial real estate community. The next Roundtable is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19 and will focus on the CRE Technology Revolution. On Wednesday, April 29 to Friday, May 1, the 2015 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) was hosted in Stamford, Conn. The conference concluded with the Regional Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards, where 5 Boston buildings were awarded and moved onto international competition: * Under 100,000 s/f: 410 Totten Pond Rd., Managed by CBRE | New England; * Over 1 Million s/f: Atlantic Wharf, Managed by Boston Properties; * Earth Award: One Beacon St., Managed by CBRE | New England; and * Renovated Building: 50 PO Sq., Managed by CBRE | New England. International winners will be announced at BOMA International's Every Building Conference and Expo, to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, from June 28-30. BOMA Boston is federated with BOMA International and is the 3rd largest of BOMA International's 93 affiliates and BOMA Boston membership includes membership with BOMA International. On Saturday, May 16, BOMA Boston will host a Family Fun Night at New England Revolution vs. Toronto FC starting at 5:30 p.m. Attendees will receive a pre-game buffet and seating in the Putnam Club for the game. This event is sponsored by ThyssenKrupp Elevators. In June, BOMA Boston will be participating in the Northeast Facilities Management Show at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center on June 17 and 18.
