BOMA Boston: Fall programming including Roundtable on Networking

Boston, MA BOMA Boston has some great upcoming programs including a Roundtable on Effective Networking, the annual Fallfest event, a Blueprint program on the Initials of Commercial Real Estate, and the 2015 TOBY & Industry Awards. On Friday, September 25, BOMA Members and Non-members participated in a Short Course on Blueprint Reading led by Steve Wessling and Robert Cala of Wessling Architects. The workshop covered the identification of various types of blueprint drawings, including architectural, landscape, interior, structural, and MEPFP. There was also discussion on how to understand the scale, building details, and building sections that go along with a commercial blueprint.

On Wednesday, October 21, BOMA Boston will host a Roundtable on effective networking practices and business etiquette. This program will be led by Diane Darling, an expert resource on the subject of networking. The Roundtable will cover tips for handshakes, how to work a room the right way, techniques for introverts, and what should be in your networking toolkit.

Join BOMA on Wednesday, October 28 for their October Networking Nite. This bi-monthly event draws a crowd of commercial industry professionals for networking and cocktails at a local Boston establishment. Networking Nites are free for BOMA Boston members, and non-members are welcome to attend at the low price of $20. This month’s Networking Nite will be held at the Causeway Restaurant & Bar, 65 Causeway St. in Boston from 5:30-7:00 p.m. and you won’t want to miss it! BOMA Boston will host a blueprint program on the Initials of Real Estate: Acronyms and Jargon on Wednesday, November 4 at Equity Office, 100 Summer St., Boston. This event will be led by Larry Lenrow, chief operating officer, The Davis Companies. Every profession develops terminology specific to its discipline in an effort to improve the approach to problem-solving, intellectual inquiry, and the process of discovering solutions. Learning the language and symbols improves your chances for clarity in making informed decisions. Join BOMA to learn more about commercial real estate acronyms!

2015 BOMA Boston TOBY & Industry Awards
