Willett joins Eastern Real Estate as managing director

Boston, MA According to Eastern Real Estate LLC David Willett has been appointed managing director, acquisitions. In this newly created leadership position, Willett will lead Eastern’s acquisition efforts and actively participate in strategic planning for the firm. 

“We are delighted to welcome David, who brings a strong track record and deep commercial real estate experience to our firm,” said Daniel Doherty, co-founder and principal of Eastern Real Estate LLC. “He has a passion for sourcing and structuring complex, value-add real estate investment opportunities. David is also a visionary with a strong entrepreneurial mindset that will be a tremendous asset as Eastern expands its acquisition strategy.” 

 Willett brings with him 20 years of diverse industry experience in investment sourcing and execution, business development, and strategic planning.

Immediately before joining Eastern Real Estate LLC, Willett served as senior director in American Realty Advisors’ (ARA) Investment Group and was responsible for all transaction activities in the Northeast and Southeast regions of the U.S. Prior to joining ARA, Willett was director of acquisitions in the development and investment division of CNL Commercial Real Estate in Florida. He also served as regional irector of Acquisitions and Vice President for New Boston Fund. Willett began his career as an investment banker, focusing on Mergers and Acquisitions and Capital Markets transactions for the financial, real estate and services industries. 

Willett is a graduate of Williams College and earned an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of NAIOP, the Urban Land Institute, and the National Multifamily Housing Council.
