Waldman leases 12,967 s/f to Sayer Market at 568 Providence Highway in Norwood, Mass.

Norwood, MA While many businesses were shutting down across New England due to the COVID-19 virus, Sayar Market, a Middle Eastern grocery, opened their second location which is more than twice as large as their successful Revere location.

Sayer Market opened at 568 Providence Hwy. on April 10th

The store specializes in Middle East and Northern African foods, fresh prepared Halal meat, and traditional grocery items, such as fresh fruit and soft drinks. Walking through the Sayar Market, customers will discover a delicious bakery and a large gift section. Although being cognizant of proper social distancing protocols, the store has been busy in its first few weeks open.

Sayar Market has been looking for a location for several years in the Norwood, Walpole and Sharon area. The owners met Dan Waldman of Waldman & Associates on one of their tours. When this space became available Waldman reached out to the owners, Younes Sayar and Danielle Granata, and they toured the space. They liked the visibility and the other co-tenants.

After a meeting between the tenant and the owner, CMI Property, a deal was quickly negotiated. Sayer reports that he expects to hire about 20-25 employees, including butchers, and expects to draw a wide-range of customers.

CMI purchased the property in 2013. Waldman, as the exclusive agent for CMI, has transformed the property from having many vacancies to be fully-leased with Savers, Mobility, Launch Family Entertainment Center, and now Sayer Market, the largest middle-east grocery store in the area.

Waldman mentioned that he now has two buildings in Norwood under agreement for sale and will be making an announcement soon.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
