Vantage Builders, Inc. completes three cannabis facilities for Sanctuary Medicinals in Danvers, Gardner and Woburn, Mass.

Waltham, MA Vantage Builders, Inc. has completed the renovation of three cannabis dispensary facilities for Sanctuary Medicinals, located in Danvers, Gardner and Woburn, Mass.

All three dispensaries will offer medical cannabis products, with adult-use cannabis also available in Gardner. The Gardner location opened in early March, becoming only the 10th dispensary in the state licensed for recreational cannabis sales. The Danvers and Woburn locations are scheduled to open during April.

Vantage Builders followed designs by Caveney Architectural Collaborative in each project. The locations have a distinct style, featuring wood walls, specialty ceilings and faux wood beams that create a comfortable yet professional atmosphere. Ample lighting keeps the locations bright and welcoming.

Each location has a secure reception area where patients and customers check in, with point of sales and product displays. There are also offices, locker rooms and a breakroom for employees. Separate customer consultation areas allow for discussions in a quieter setting. Security is of paramount importance to Sanctuary Medicinals. All areas are constantly monitored by cameras and certain sections can only be accessed by employees via security card scanners.

The Danvers and Gardner dispensaries are 2,000 s/f, while the flagship facility in Woburn is double the size at 4,000 s/f. Vantage Builders was chosen for the dispensary projects after completing Sanctuary Medicinals’ cannabis cultivation facility in Littleton, Mass. The 36,000 s/f facility has eight grow rooms and facilities for producing cannabis edibles and oils.

“Over the past three years, Vantage Builders has completed more than a dozen cannabis construction projects, including cultivation facilities and dispensaries, totaling more than 250,000 s/f,” said Ed Silva, principal, Vantage Builders

“We are very pleased to have become one of the most knowledgeable firms servings this exciting, growing industry.”

The project team also included site engineering services from Places Associates, Inc.

Sanctuary sells cannabis flowers, pre-rolls, tinctures, edibles, topicals and concentrates. Sanctuary’s products are all organically-produced and laboratory-tested for safety, potency and consistency.

“Sanctuary Medicinals’ new dispensaries reflect our focus on our patients’ and customers’ satisfaction, comfort and well-being,” said Jason Sidman, CEO of Sanctuary Medicinals. “These aren’t typical retail locations where the intent is to process as many sales as quickly as possible. We are taking time to understand our customers’ needs, offer consultation and provide education on our products and the industry. Vantage Builders understood this and built therapeutic yet relaxing environments where we can assist our customers.”

Recently passed legislation creates opportunities to meet CT’s changing energy needs - by Klein and Feinn

For decades, New England has had a summer-peaking power system, where the greatest energy use occurs on the hottest and most humid days, due to widespread use of air conditioning. But by the mid-2030s, electrification of the heating sector likely will result in a winter peak that’s higher than the summer peak.
