Vantage Builders, Inc. completes 23,000 s/f renovation for Casa Systems, Inc.

Vantage Builders, Inc., a general contracting and construction firm based in Waltham, completed a 23,000 s/f headquarters renovation for Casa Systems, Inc. at 100 Old River Rd. Vantage was hired to renovate the second and third floors of the building to allow Casa Systems to expand its footprint from the first floor. The company required additional space to accommodate its significant growth. Earlier this year Casa purchased the three-story, class A office building. "We are fortunate to work for some of the most interesting technology companies in the region, such as Casa Systems," said Ed Silva, principal, Vantage Builders. "Their new headquarters space not only supports its tremendous growth, it also reflects the energy of the company." Vantage began by completely gutting the two floors, to create an open area to build on plans from project architects, the McGuinness Group. A glass staircase was built between the second and third floors, to enable collaboration among the growing team. The office features high-end millwork and translucent partitions from 3form provide an intriguing design element while also boosting the interior's natural light. The expanded space features 22 offices and room for 97 workstations. Four conference rooms and a 16-person board room were created to support Casa Systems' extremely busy environment. A new presentation room that accommodates 60 people also serves as a lunch room, providing a nice place for employees to gather. Given the number of computers and servers in use at the networking company, Vantage performed significant electrical and mechanical work. The firm completely reconfigured the office mechanical systems to ensure they were up to code. A pre-action fire sprinkler system, which protects computer equipment from accidental activation, was installed in the server room. The server room was also outfitted with a separate cooling system. Union Office Interiors furnished the location, choosing Allsteel products, including seating, conference room furniture, workstations and the reception station. Casa Systems has defined a new category of network edge devices based on disruptive technologies to target the growing market opportunity in interactive digital video and broadband IP services. Casa Systems provides leading edge DOCSIS 3.0 CMTS products as well as universal EdgeQAM and intelligent video processing solutions for broadcast and unicast services. Vantage Builders offers contracting services to corporations, developers, property managers, retailers and private institutions throughout New England. Their standard construction services include general contracting and construction management. More comprehensive services include design/build and value engineering. In managing and building scores of commercial projects, they've found that versatility is key to their customers' success. Their experience includes specialized tenant build-outs, standard property improvements, base building work and construction from the ground up.
