Vantage Builders completes ground-up 7,200 s/f Lowell Road Veterinary Center

Hudson, NH Vantage Builders, Inc. has completed the ground-up construction of Lowell Road Veterinary Center’s new facility at 288 Lowell Rd. Vantage provided design-build services for the 7,200 s/f project.

Lowell Road Veterinary Center (LVRC) hired Vantage Builders to build its new clinic after outgrowing its original, nearby location due to increased demand for its comprehensive services. Vantage followed a design-build approach for the project, directing both the design and construction phases. This approach helped to shorten the schedule and streamline the process, while also allowing Vantage to develop a collaborative environment among the primary project team members. Vantage Builders worked with LRVC’s ownership and Dennis Mires PA, The Architects to ensure the project’s success.

The ground-up construction provided the team with greater flexibility in the design, compared to renovating an existing facility. It wasn’t without challenges, however, given the New England weather: To maintain schedules, framing for the new facility needed to be done during the cold New Hampshire winter. The clinic features all new building systems – including electrical, lighting, plumbing and HVAC – to ensure a comfortable environment. External work on the site included new parking lot, abundant lighting and landscaping.

Patients of LRVC, and their human companions, are greeted in an open reception area that is bright and welcoming, helping to keep everyone at ease. The center features five examination rooms – with separate exam rooms for dogs and cats. The center of the hospital contains areas for diagnostics and treatment, performed by experienced and caring veterinary nurses. The veterinarians use digital X-rays and other in-house diagnostic tools to help determine care, as well as a surgery room where various procedures are performed utilizing high-tech monitoring devices.

The Rehabilitation Center, located within LRVC, features equipment that Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioners use to help speed dogs’ rehabilitation after injury or surgery. The center also offers grooming, daycare and boarding, as well as an in-house laboratory and full pharmacy. Other services offered by LRVC include integrative care, acupuncture and spinal adjustments.

Vantage Builders has completed many veterinary projects during its history and they require industry knowledge and expertise, like all other healthcare build-outs,” said Ed Silva, principal, Vantage Builders. “We enjoy working with small business owners to provide them with the facility they need to best serve their clients and to be successful.”

“We offer our each of our patients, and their owners, the utmost level of well-being and compassion,” said Dr. Sudha Komma, DVM, CCRP, owner of Lowell Road Veterinary Center. “And our physical space is an important part of our care. It must create an environment in which our patients are relaxed, our clients feel welcome, and our veterinary professionals can deliver their expertise efficiently and effectively. We appreciate that Vantage Builders offered us – their client – a similar level of care and focus.”

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
