Untold Brewing opens beer garden at WS Dev.’s Derby Street Shops

Hingham MA Untold Brewing, one of the South Shore’s leading microbreweries, in partnership with Derby Street Shops, an outdoor lifestyle destination by WS Development, opened “The Green,” an open air community space and beer garden on June 18th. The Green is an exciting project of firsts: The first satellite location for the three-year-old Untold, the first beer garden for Derby Street Shops, and similarly the first seasonal beer garden for the town.

The family friendly space is conveniently located at The Green at Derby Street Shops, between REI and Kohl’s, where it neighbors 60 different shops and restaurants. The Green welcomes guests Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during these hours: Friday & Saturday: 12-9 p.m.; Sunday: 12-7 p.m.

Guests will find a mix of comfortable seating options, including picnic tables and Adirondack chairs, lawn games, and design details that make the space truly inviting. At the counter, Untold’s beer savvy staff will be pouring a rotating selection of beer in a variety of styles, white and rosé wine by the glass, and non-alcoholic fruited seltzers.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Derby Street Shops and WS Development to bring this community space to life this summer,” rsaid Matt Elder, founder of Untold Brewing. “We’ve been working on this project for months, fine tuning the details, to ensure an incredible and relaxing experience for all. We are very appreciative of the support we’ve received from our friends at Derby Street Shops and the Town of Hingham. Hospitality is the key ingredient at The Green. Whether you’re an avid craft beer enthusiast or someone who is simply looking for a place to relax and enjoy a sunny afternoon, we want to be a top of mind destination this summer.”

“The Green at Derby Street Shops promises to be a community-first destination where people can gather to relax, have fun and support the special and local microbrewery that is Untold Brewing. We are so thrilled to bring this experience to the South Shore community, and we look forward to welcoming guests to this wonderful outdoor space within Derby Street. Whether friends are seeking the latest place to gather after shopping, or parents are looking for a way to enjoy lawn games with their little ones, The Green will be a destination that allows everyone to find the fun this summer. We will continue to activate this space during the week with events like our fitness series, Derby Street SWEAT, and our kid friendly series, Summer Thursdays. When coupled with these amenities and our abundance of shopping and dining options, we know that Derby Street Shops will continue to serve the community in exciting and meaningful ways,” said Sherri Schuler, general manager of Derby Street Shops.

Guests visiting The Green will find a casually, elegant environment that combines design elements found at both Derby Street Shops and Untold’s Scituate brewery and taproom. “The design team at Derby Street Shops and WS Development did a fantastic job of combining our brands and creating a really special place for families and friends to relax and reconnect this summer.” said Mike Dyer, co-owner of Untold.

With over a half dozen dining experiences at Derby Street Shops, including well known restaurants like Burton’s Grill, Legal C Bar, Cava, Chipotle, and Bertucci’s, to name just a few, guests are welcome to bring food to The Green or stop in while waiting for a dinner reservation. Derby Street Shops is conveniently located off Route 3, at exit 36, in Hingham and features premier tenants such as Whole Foods Market, Crate & Barrel, REI, Madewell, Warby Parker, Anthropologie, Barnes & Noble, lululemon, and more.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
