True Storage opens its third self-storage development this year located at 2201 Boston Rd., Wilbraham, MA

Wilbraham, MA True Storage opened its third self-storage development this year located at 2201 Boston Rd. This completion marks the company’s first ground-up completion in 2024, and their second multi-story new build in Massachusetts. The design build self-storage developer bought the acreage on Boston Rd. in 2022 and completed the two-story build earlier this month.

This class A self-storage ground up features True Storage’s expertise in development of storage facilities that serve a public need. Day-to-day operations will be managed by Extra Space Storage, while True Storage retains ownership of the property.

The property features 65,403 net rentable s/f throughout 671 climate-controlled units of varying sizes to accommodate storage needs for local businesses and individuals. Located on Boston Rd. (US Rte. 20) the site is located next to Dunkin Donuts, Big Y Supermarket, The Home Depot, and various restaurants. The property lies about five miles outside of Springfield, and less than ten miles to the Connecticut border.

“We are thrilled to add another new build completion to our portfolio that showcases our company’s dedication to quality” said Chris Lewis, director of architecture & design for True Storage. “We are excited to offer premium storage solutions to the Wilbraham community. The town and local officials were a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process.”

This site will feature flexible hours, 24-hour interior and exterior video surveillance, security access to the unit, an assortment of unit sizes, covered loading bay, and high-end finishes throughout the facility.

True Storage, a self-storage developer that focuses on bringing value and lifestyle experiences to communities across the country, has proudly developed several other class A facilities in Mass., N.H., ME, GA, R.I., FL, Indiana, Conn., Wisconsin, Illinois, N.Y., and Kentucky.
