The Peabody Companies’ Harmon Apartments receives BRAGB Award

Dorchester, MA According to The Peabody Companies, a group of award-winning property management and real estate firms, Harmon Apartments has been named recipient of the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB) PRISM Silver Award for Excellence in Community Design, Best Universal Design.

The PRISM Awards recognize the finest projects and outstanding achievements of builders, remodelers, developers, project owners, architects, land planners, marketing and advertising firms, interior designers, and other professionals in the home-building industry.

Harmon Apartments was inspired by Cordelia Harmon, who founded The Boston Home (TBH) in 1881, a one-of-a-kind community serving adults with advanced multiple sclerosis and similar progressive neurological diseases. In 2013, knowing that a need existed for supportive affordable housing for people with progressive diseases and mobility impairments, TBH initiated the effort to build Harmon Apartments, an affordable and fully accessible apartment building for adults with disabilities.

In May 2019, Harmon Apartments opened its doors with 36 apartments. Located on The Boston Home campus, the innovative community expands the programs developed by The Boston Home, supplying integrated technology and supportive services to residents.

Harmon Apartments provides a range of on-site programs and services, including services sponsored by the Greater New England Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

“It is an honor to receive this prestigious award from BRAGB and a true testament to what can be achieved through collaboration,” said Melissa Fish-Crane, principal and CEO of the Peabody Companies.

BRAGB is a trade association affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders and the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Mass. Established in 1944, BRAGB has hundreds of members that include home builders and remodeling contractors, along with the vendors, suppliers and professional services that support the building industry. BRAGB has earned an outstanding reputation for its commitment to excellence through support of legislative, educational, and economic initiatives to promote Greater Boston’s economic well-being and quality of life.
