The Davis Cos. signs Northeast Medical Group to 6,300 s/f lease

Westport, CT According to The Davis Companies, Northeast Medical Group, Yale New Haven Health’s not-for-profit multi-specialty medical foundation, has signed a lease to occupy 6,300 s/f at the Westport Center for Health.

Northeast Medical Group will bring together primary and specialty care in this new multi-specialty center to better serve its patients. The extensive clinical workspace allows Northeast Medical Group to expand its primary care services in the area. The group will bring new primary care providers and provide on-site specialty care – including cardiology, gastroenterology, urology and endocrinology. Dr. Steven Benaderet’s practice will also be relocated to Westport Center for Health from 129 Kings Highway. Additionally, Yale New Haven Health’s Bridgeport Hospital will provide on-site lab and blood draw services to the Multispecialty Center’s patients.

“We are excited to grow our relationship with the town of Westport and offer high-quality, coordinated care to its residents and neighbors,” said Dr. Prathibha Varkey, president and CEO of Northeast Medical Group. “Our new Multispecialty Center in Westport will allow us to provide personalized, compassionate care in a sophisticated facility with a beautiful, waterfront setting. With room to grow, we look forward to welcoming new patients at the Multispecialty Center.”

The Westport Center for Health is a 38,000 s/f, class-A medical office campus that provides a broad array of medical services to Fairfield County. Located at 321-329 Riverside Ave., the property is off I-95, less than one mile from downtown Westport, and offers outdoor spaces with views of the Saugatuck River. It also includes ample parking including 77 garage spaces, for patients and staff.

The Westport Center for Health represents the largest collection of medical providers in Westport, which The Davis Companies transformed from a group of underutilized buildings into a highly regarded medical campus now home to Coastal Orthopedics, Westport Dermatology & Laser Center, Westport Dental Associates, Village Pediatrics, Professional Physical Therapy and Women’s Health Connecticut.

David Allen, a vice president of asset management for The Davis Companies said, “We are thrilled to welcome Northeast Medical Group to Westport Center for Health. We’ve transformed an out-of-date office park into a premier medical destination in Fairfield County, providing a much-needed service to the Westport community. Adding Northeast Medical Group to the prestigious medical service providers in the park, truly solidifies our vision of creating a top of class medical office environment that will benefit both the physicians, their staff members and their patients.”

Avison Young’s Sean McDonnell and Lori Baker are handling leasing for the center’s remaining space. “The Westport Center for Health was designed with the patients in mind.  Easy access, exceptional parking and a tranquil healing environment has drawn physicians of many disciplines who want only the best for their patients and a quality of life for themselves and their employees. Internal medicine was the missing piece to the puzzle and now that we have primary care physicians from Yale New Haven Health, the subspecialties will be eager to benefit from their presence.”
