TF Moran included in the project team receive ABC "Excellence in Construction" award for Hilton Garden Inn

The Hilton Garden Inn project received an "Excellence in Construction" award from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) at a ceremony in Concord, N.H. on October 25th. TFMoran Inc. civil engineers were responsible for master planning and design of the hotel's site plan. TFM worked alongside BMA Architectural Group of Amherst, NH, ROK Builders, and hotel developers Roedel Companies, LLC, of Wilton, NH. The upscale, six-story, 127-room Hilton Garden Inn is located in the south end of the historic Amoskeag Millyard along the Merrimack River. The hotel is a success story of public-private partnership overcoming the challenges of building in the heart of a former mill city's industrial district. The architecture was designed as a fusion between old and new, using brick, glass and wrought iron accents. One of the major attractions of building next to the Merchantsauto.com stadium was the opportunity to create a "front row seat" experience for hotel guests on the hotel patio and in their rooms watching the NH Fisher Cats play. The hotel has been recognized by the city of Manchester, Hilton Corp., the Manchester Historic Association, and by the community at large as a great addition to Manchester's hospitality industry. The hotel opened in the spring of 2006.

State legislature ends session without passing PLA bill - by Joe Camilo

Massachusetts taxpayers dodged a bullet when the state Senate didn’t take up legislation passed by the House in the waning moments of the legislative session that would have made it easier for municipalities and state agencies to use union-only project labor agreements (PLAs) on construction projects.
