Summertime at The Street commences

Chestnut Hill, MA Following the opening of 27 Boylston St. and its community event, The Street Chestnut Hill has brought back Summertime at The Street with a full season of programming. Now through mid-September, Summertime at The Street offers something for everyone in the family including The Street Tots kid-friendly activities, Dog Days at The Street for guests and their furry friends, The Street Sweat outdoor fitness, and the new Spotted at The Street series with pop-ups and surprises to discover every Saturday.

The Street Tots

Outdoor activities your littles will love. On Thursdays, through September 12, The Street is offering complimentary children’s programming on The Green, including kid-friendly musical experiences, yoga, magic shows, and more. Registration is required. 

 

Music & Movement with Little Beats

July 18 | 10:00am – 10:30am

August 15 | 10:00am – 10:30am

September 5 | 10:00am – 10:30am

Join The Street on The Green for 30-minutes of complimentary music and movement with Little Beats. The class is best for ages 0-4, but all ages are welcome.

 

Concert with Vanessa Trien and The Jumping Monkeys

July 25 | 10:30am – 11:30am

Enjoy a morning of musical fun for the whole family with Boston’s beloved, Parents Choice Award-winning kids band, Vanessa Trien and the Jumping Monkeys. Vanessa is known for her engaging, interactive family shows, and is backed by a stellar band.

This 45-minute concert is free and open to all. Music is geared toward children ages 2-8, but all are welcome. Bring a blanket, some snacks, and get ready to rock.

 

Knucklebones Wicked Good Playdate with Boston Moms

August 1 | 10:00am – 12:00pm

Join The Street and Boston Moms for a Wicked Good Playdate. Enjoy fun hands-on play from Knucklebones and mingle with other moms and caregivers. The first 50 moms or caregivers in attendance will receive a swag bag full of goodies from Boston Moms’ partners and popular businesses at The Street.

 

Pop-Up Dance Party with JLDC

August 8 | 4:00pm – 4:30pm

September 12 | 10:00am- 10:30am

Move and groove on The Green with a complimentary dance pop-up party by the beloved and Newton-owned Joanne Langione Dance Center. Enjoy a fun family dance party where music and movement come together to encourage exploration and imaginative play with new and familiar song and dance activities. Playdance Pop-Ups are geared towards ages 12 mo.-5 years old and are led by JLDC’S experienced early childhood dance faculty.

 

Fun with Music at The Blissful

August 22 | 10:30am – 11:30am

Join The Street on The Green for an hour of complimentary music and fun with Music at the Blissful. The class is best for ages 0-7, but all ages are welcome. In the event of rain, this event will be hosted on Friday, August 23, 10:30am – 11:30am.

 

Comedy Magic with Malik the Magician

August 29 | 10:30am – 11:30am

Little ones will enjoy an awe-inspiring magic comedy performance by Malik the Magician. A full-time comedy magician with over 20 years of experience, Malik has performed his unique comedy magic all over the United States.

 

DOG DAYS AT THE STREET

The Street Chestnut Hill has launched Dog Days at The Street, special curated experiences for guests and their furry friends. Two ticketed events include live pet portraits on July 28 and custom bandanas on August 11. Polkadog Bakery will host a complimentary doggy ice cream social on August 3. Dog Days will take place at Polkadog Bakery and The Half Cookie.

Live Pet Portraits

July 28 | 2:30pm – 5:30pm

Registration $15

Join The Street on Sunday, July 28 for custom live pet portraits by Becca McGovern. Tickets include one portrait, a treat bag from Polkadog Bakery, and cookies & a pup cup from the newly opened The Half Cookie. The event is scheduled in time slots as portraits will be done live. Guests are asked to send a photo of their dog in advance to thestreet@wsdevelopment.com upon purchase of their ticket. 

 

Custom Dog Bandanas

August 11 | 11:00am – 2:00pm

Join The Street on Sunday, August 11 for a custom chain stitched dog bandana from Goody Great. Tickets include one bandana, a treat bag from Polkadog Bakery, and cookies & a pup cup from the newly opened The Half Cookie. The event is sold in timeslots as embroidery will be done live.

 

Polkadog Bakery Ice Cream Social

August 3 | 12:00pm – 2:00pm

On Saturday, August 3, Polkadog Bakery will host a pup ice cream social outside of their shop. Guests can grab a frozen yogurt scoop for their pup and pick toppings from a bar curated by Polkadog. In the event of rain, the ice cream social will take place on August 4, 12:00pm – 2:00pm.

 

THE STREET SWEAT

The Street Sweat is back and bringing the community together for outdoor group fitness this season. Hosted in partnership with favorite brands such as Barry’s and lululemon, classes are free and will take place on select dates on The Green. Registration is required.

 

Barry’s x lululemon Run Club

August 13 | 6:00pm – 8:00pm

September 17 | 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Join lululemon ambassador and Barry’s instructor Mike Pannozzi for their summer run series. There will be two route options: a run (3 miles) and walk (2 miles) with complimentary lululemon socks at check-in. All abilities and paces welcome. Meet at lululemon for a stretch, connect and run/walk!

 

Barry’s HIIT Class

August 12 | 6:45pm – 7:15pm

September 12 | 6:45pm – 7:15pm

Join Barry’s for a 30 min HIIT (high intensity interval training) workout on The Green.

 

SPOTTED AT THE STREET

Every Saturday, now through August 31 | 12:00pm – 2:00pm

There’s something special in store around every corner this summer at The Street. The property is thrilled to introduce Spotted at The Street: a series of weekly whimsies, pop-ups, and surprises every Saturday at its newest building, located at 27 Boylston Street. Guests will discover something new during their retreat at The Street from complimentary ice cream scoops from Van Leeuwen, to live fashion illustrations, electric violin performances, and more. No registration is required and availability is offered while supplies last.
