Suffolk Construction selected for phase 1 of Stilts Infill Master Plan for Lahey Hospital & Medical Center project

Suffolk Construction has been selected to perform preconstruction and construction management services for phase one of the Stilts Infill Master Plan for Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. Located on the academic medical center's campus, the $60 million project will consist of a 190,000 s/f addition featuring a new emergency department, shell space, and mechanical areas to infill Lahey's existing Stilts structure and tie in to their occupied clinical facility. The Suffolk project team will utilize Lean Construction processes and Model-Based Estimating to enhance team-wide collaboration, eliminate waste, and ensure efficient project delivery. Enabling work will begin this fall. The project is scheduled to be completed spring 2017. Suffolk is partnering with architect firm FreemanWhite on the project, which has been designed to achieve LEED Silver certification.
