SRS Real Estate Partners opens Boston office and hires Lapat to lead office

Boston, MA SRS Real Estate Partners (SRS) has opened their new Boston office and the addition of Jonathan Lapat, formerly a principal at Strategic Retail Advisors, who has joined SRS to lead the new office. The office will serve as a hub for all activity within New England. The Boston and New York offices will form an interdependent relationship, with clients of both offices benefitting from the expanded coverage along the east coast. Immediate plans to grow the Boston office include locating a physical location from which the Boston team will operate. The addition of the new office marks the 12th SRS office in the United States and provides SRS’ clients deep local knowledge in one of the most important retail markets in the country.

Lapat joins SRS with 22 years of experience in retail real estate as managing principal and market leader for the Boston office. He most recently served as a principal at Strategic Retail Advisors, a retail real estate consulting and brokerage firm in Massachusetts. Focused on tenant representation throughout the Northeast, Lapat was part of the team that established the firm in 2001. His career began many years prior at Trammell Crow Company where he specialized in small space requirements and developing service stations for Mobil Oil Corporation. He has an extensive client list and has worked with brands such as Charming Charlie, AMC Theatres, Carter’s, Gap, Inc., Jos. A. Bank, ULTA Beauty, Chico’s, Banana Republic, Victoria’s Secret, White House Black Market, Payless ShoeSource, F21 Red, Athleta and Bath & Body Works, among others.

Lapat is an active member of ICSC and served as president for X Team International, an integrated network of retail specialists throughout the United States and Canada.
