Spurr of A.W. Perry to receive Lifetime Achievement Award from BOMA Boston

Boston, MA Join BOMA Boston on Thursday, November 16 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place for the TOBY Industry & Awards Dinner to find out who the region’s best buildings and managers are. 

The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards is the annual recognition of outstanding buildings in the local, regional and international arena. BOMA Boston is the host of the local TOBYs for the Greater Boston real estate community. There are 17 categories that buildings can compete in and 9 categories for Industry awards. This is BOMA Boston’s largest gathering, with close to 600 people in attendance. A highlight of the evening will include the presentation of a Lifetime Achievement Award, which will be awarded to John Spurr, Jr. “Jack,” vice-chairman, A.W. Perry. 

September RT/Preparedness Month

September is Emergency Preparedness Month and the BOMA Boston preparedness committee has planned a September Roundtable around the current opioid epidemic. Learn from front line public safety professionals about their experiences working with those affected by this epidemic to help keep your properties, tenants, visitors, and communities safe. Presenters include: Sgt. Det. Louis Cherubino, Cambridge Police Department; superintendent Steven DeMarco, Cambridge Police Department; and Dan White, Boston Emergency Medical Services – Medical Intelligence Analyst, Boston Regional Intelligence Center. Join BOMA to learn more about the scope of this epidemic, potential impacts to building owners and managers, new methods used by law-enforcement/EMS and other public safety agencies, and more about the trend towards increased deployment of Narcan in public spaces, office buildings, and retail areas. The September Roundtable will take place on Thursday, September 28 at Atlantic Wharf, 290 Congress St.

Greenbuild 2017 
This Fall, BOMA Boston and BOMA’s sustainability committee will be supporting Greenbuild as a regional partner. They hope you can join BOMA Boston and over 600 representatives from the industry for this three day conference taking place November 8th - 10th at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. Thousands of building professionals from all over the world will come together at Greenbuild 2017 for outstanding educational sessions, renowned speakers and special seminars. LEED GA PREP Course
On Monday, November 6, BOMA Boston will host a one-day green building workshop to help prepare for the 100-question professional LEED 4 exam. The course will cover the 3 exam areas (recognition, application, and analysis), key components of the LEED rating system, and successful green building and LEED strategies. The course cost also covers the following study resources: a LEED GA study guide, access to online practice exams, LEED forum to connect with LEED experts following the workshop, MP3’s of Green Associate main exam topics, study matrix sheets, and live proctoring of sample exam questions and scenarios.
