Spectrum Integrated Technologies awarded Brigham and Women's Hospital's Brigham Building for the Future
Spectrum Integrated Technologies, the low voltage division of J. & M. Brown Co. is underway with the comprehensive tel/data infrastructure project at Brigham and Women's Hospital's (BWH) Brigham Building For The Future (BBF).
The NECA contractor will employ the latest cable technology for the telecommunications backbone at the newest Longwood Medical Area facility. Spectrum will utilize small diameter Cat 6a fiber and copper cable, connecting the building's distributed antenna system (DAS) from the MDF room to the facility's tel/data closets. Much of Spectrum's work will be performed within tunnels, as the new Building For The Future network infrastructure will be connected to the main BWH network.
When complete, BWH's Building For The Future will be a state-of-the-art 11-story, 360,000 s/f research laboratory and clinical outpatient facility, which will also house the medical industry's most advanced imaging suites.
Spectrum IT's project manager Randy Silva is managing the year-long project with a field crew of upwards of 10 skilled IBEW technicians. The project commenced in April 2015 and is targeted for completion in 2016.
