Parsons Brinckerhoff on design team for Logan International Airport's terminal B parking garage

Parsons Brinckerhoff is providing engineering and construction-related services for a new parking garage and an expansion of the terminal B parking garage at Logan International Airport. The project, which is being carried out on behalf of the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport), encompasses fast-track planning, design, and construction support for a multi-levelparking deck to be built over the existing Hilton Hotel parking lot, as an extension of the existing west garage. The facility will feature direct circulation between the existing garage and the Hilton Hotel, as well as architectural façade panels, LED lighting, dynamic smart-parking signage, landscaping, and other sustainable and resilient features. The project also includes a horizontal expansion of the terminal B garage over the existing entry plaza, with direct vehicular and pedestrian connections to the American Airlines/US Airways section of the terminal, rooftop solar panels, and enclosed pedestrian walkways connected to existing pedestrian bridges to terminals A and C. A subconsultant to Arrowstreet, Parsons Brinckerhoff will lead and direct the efforts of the engineering design team with responsibility for structural, civil, lighting, and geotechnical engineering; BIM/VDC; fast-track procurement packaging; phasing/constructability; resident engineering; and project controls. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2016.
