Congratulations to six BOMA Boston Buildings on the Regional TOBY Awards!

Boston, MA Congratulations to the six BOMA Boston building members on winning a Regional TOBY Award at the Middle Atlantic TOBY Awards on Thursday, April 28th in Albany, NY. 7 Post Office Sq., managed by Cushman & Wakefield; 99 High St., managed by Cushman & Wakefield; 200 Technology Sq., managed by Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc.; The Newbury, managed by CBRE; Rowes Wharf, managed by JLL; and Park 9, managed by JLL will all go on to compete in the BOMA International Competition in Nashville, on June 28th!

On Tuesday, May 17th, BOMA hosted a Roundtable Event: What 2022 Looks Like for the CRE Market. Shawn Carroll, director, CBRE, Inc. moderated the panel discussion. The panelists included: Elizabeth Berthelette, director of research, Newmark; Ashley Dunn, AIA, associate principal & director of workplace, Dyer Brown & Associates and Tim Martin, managing director of property management and national lead of life sciences property management, JLL.

Over 250 commercial real estate professionals attended BOMA’s Annual Springfest on Thursday, May 19th at Bostonia Public House. Sponsored by BOMA’s affiliate members, attendees enjoyed great industry networking, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in one of the city’s favorite downtown restaurants. On Thursday, May 26th, BOMA Boston hosted a Tech Tour: Cannistraro Fabrication Facility at Black Falcon Pier. “The Fid” as it’s called which stands for (F)abrication, (I)ndustry, (D)esign is a 160,000 s/f manufacturing facility, which is equivalent to four acres. The building was originally built for the U.S. Navy as a metal fabrication shop and ship repair facility in 1941 to support the efforts of WWII. A complete renovation of the facility was finished in June of 2018. Close to 30 engineers and facility managers enjoyed the tour and learned about the state-of-the-art facility.

On Thursday, July 14th, BOMA will be hosting a Roundtable on Insights from the Pros. The roundtable will be led by Phil Boccalatte, vice president, Rockhill Management; Chuck Hurchalla, president, Evolution Energy Partners; Gregg Laufersweiler, vice president, sales and marketing, Stanley Elevator; and Clayton Wentworth, RPA, vice president-portfolio manager, Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc., BOMA 2022 treasurer. They will focus on utilities, elevators, real estate taxes, janitorial contracts and supplies, along with opening the conversation to discuss other operating expenses as time permits. This BOMA Roundtable is hosted by the programs & education committee and sponsored by Evolution Energy Partners and Stanley Elevator.

BOMA’s partnership with BOMI International remains strong. Through educational offerings, BOMA members and non-members learn from senior professionals in the commercial real estate industry to work towards earning their RPA or FMA designations.
