Schochet Assoc. revitalizes the Brick Market Place in Newport

Recent months have seen a second wind for the historic Brick Market Place, thanks to the ongoing renovation efforts of  Schochet Associates, a development and property management company located in downtown Boston. Boasting over four acres of retail along America's Cup Ave., Brick Market Place has long been a treasured shopping destination in the city, and now sees a bright future as a centerpiece to the economic revitalization of the city's historic downtown area.  The first phase of the project saw the construction of 52 condominium residences and 32 commercial spaces, with the second phase creating 20,000 s/f of commercial space, including retail, offices, and a restaurant. The acquisition of a highly successful Brooks Brothers store has drawn new crowds to the already long-established retail hub, along with significant improvements to the marketplace's exterior and infrastructure in the pursuit of improved traffic flow.  Most recent has been the addition of famed Boston restaurant The Barking Crab.  The 6,600 s/f space is situated in arguably the best restaurant location in town, and will bring additional life and vibrancy to the ongoing revival of Brick Market Place. Under the direction of Schochet Assoc., a number of exciting new developments remain on the horizon for Brick Market Place.  In addition to further retail pursuits, the firm is presently exploring the potential to upgrade approximately 6,000 s/f of second floor office space to class-A standard, and have a number of potential tenants in mind.
