Sam Park & Co. breaks ground on 115-room Courtyard by Marriott at The Point

According to Sam Park & Co., Courtyard by Marriott broke ground at The Point, a $100 million mixed-use retail destination located at the intersection of I-495 and Rte. 119 between Rtes. 2 and 3. "Courtyard by Marriott is the perfect addition to our family of restaurants, retailers, office, and entertainment tenants," said Sam Park, president, Sam Park & Co. "Boston's 495 is on fire! People are always surprised how strong this market is. Now, with our hotel, restaurants, grocery, and cinema tenants in place, we're moving forward into our final phase - retail leasing." The 115-room, four-story Courtyard will offer contemporary rooms highlighted by flexible workspaces. The lobby will feature casual meeting space, a business center, a 24/7 market, free Wi-Fi, and GoBoard Touchscreens for information on the go. A first-floor restaurant called "The Bistro" will offer meals that can be eaten in or taken to go. The hotel will also include a breakfast area, gym, pool, and outdoor courtyard seating. Among its guests, Courtyard will serve business travelers visiting technology companies and other businesses that make up the I-495 "Think Belt," a technology hotbed between Rte. 2 and Rte. 3 that is home to IBM, Red Hat, Juniper Networks, Cisco, and dozens of other businesses. Courtyard joins O'neil Cinemas, The Paper Store, and a half dozen restaurants that have recently joined The Point. Courtyard is scheduled to open in spring 2016.
