Rockler Woodworking store offers "make & take" classes in April

Cambridge, MA Rockler Woodworking and Hardware in Cambridge is offering hands-on, "Make & Take" project classes throughout April. Participants can learn basic woodworking skills while handcrafting items they'll be proud to take home “they'll be able to build a complete project in just a few hours. Each class size is limited to as few as three participants and will cost from $25.00 to $45.00 with all materials included. No experience or tools are needed. Instruction will be provided by the store's expert woodworkers and teachers.
 
The "Make & Take" class series is especially well-suited for beginners or those with limited woodworking experience. Class size is limited in order for attendees to have access to as much guidance and instruction as needed. "Make and Take" class projects include a custom knife; a wooden beverage caddy; a custom-made, Manhattan style pen; and a beautiful wood bowl. Children under the age of 18 are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and must sign a waiver.
 
Classes will be held at Rockler Woodworking and Hardware in Cambridge, 2154 Massachusetts Ave.
 
Class schedule: Classes will be approximately 1-3 hours long.
  • April 8th “Custom Knife" mount, shape and finish a custom wood handle/grip on a knife kit.
  • April 15th “Beverage/Bottle Caddy - build a handled carrier with spots for a six-pack and a bottle opener mounted to the side.
  • April 22nd "Custom Pen" Learn new skills and leave with a finished project you can proudly say you made yourself! In this pen turning class, participants will turn and finish a pen body on the lathe and assemble it with the included Manhattan style hardware kit.
  • April 29th "Bowl" turn and finish a bowl on the lathe.
