RIBA to sponsor 60th Home Show - March 26-29

It's the Rhode Island Builders Association's 60th year sponsoring the oldest and largest Home Show in southern New England on March 26-29 at the RI Convention Center. Channel 10's celebrated "Home Pro," Bruce Morris, will be our featured guest, with several seminars on home repairs and do-it-yourself projects. Other seminar topics will include landscape design, green building, how to choose a contractor, staying in your home as you age, and interior design. More details can be found on the "Schedule of Events" at www.ribahomeshow.com. Don't miss: Rejuvenation Nights. Complimentary massages and facials by Renovo Day Spa, tastings from Cabot Cheese, Wicked Natural Products, Sam Adams, seven vineyards of the "Coastal Wine Trail," and chocolate sampling. Kids Fun! The Audubon Society will feature a whale exhibit with an inflatable walk-through whale and real whale bones to examine. The Kaleidoscope Theatre will hold two performances of Little Red Riding Hood, and there will be appearances by Cinderella and Snow White. Your children will have fun learning about animal habitats during The Roger Williams Park Zoo's hands-on activities, singing & dancing, and puppet shows. Rhody Fresh milk, with cookies, will be served during the activities. There will also be balloon animals and face painting. Live Cooking Demonstrations. Newport Restaurant Week will provide chefs with fun and delicious recipes. RIBA Member Night. RIBA members get free admission on Thursday's Member Night, the opening day of the show. Watch your mail for passes and make sure to visit the RIBA staff at our new location, front-and-center inside the exhibit hall! AAA Day. "Show Your Card & Coupon to Save" $4 on admission, and $2 savings throughout the remaining days of the show. Thinking Green. We'll again have an eco-friendly billboard on Route 95, a Green Pavilion with information on exhibitors who are using green technology, and will be handing out paper bags instead of plastic when you enter the show floor. Watch for coupons. Discount coupons will be available on qualifying Stop & Shop receipts, in the Providence Journal, and on the Home Show website. We will offer $2 off of Convention Center garage parking on Thursday and Friday. Just bring your parking ticket to the RIBA booth for stamping. Get all the details at www.ribahomeshow.com. We've made some changes. The show has gone from five days to four, and will close an hour earlier on some nights. We think you'll like how we've reorganized the show floor, but don't worry! You'll still find what you're looking for, from exhibitors on home building, remodeling, mortgage lending, insurance, landscaping, bathroom fixtures, lighting, gutters, home furnishings and much more. Exhibitors. There's still time to reserve a booth at the show. Visit www.ribahomeshow.com for information. Nancy Jenkinson is the member services coordinator for the RI Builders Assn., East Providence.
