RIBA's 20th Annual Golf Classic: Team Lombardo shoots low score
If there was an award for "Luckiest Golfer," it would have to land in the capable hands of Dave Lombardo of Frank Lombardo & Sons Inc. Not only did Dave's team win top honors at the Rhode Island Builders Association's 20th Annual Golf Classic, but the man himself went home with the largest number of door prizes.
"Well, I do buy an awful lot of tickets!" Dave laughed.
Undaunted by gray skies and an occasional shower, 64 members and guests gathered on September 17th to enjoy the event, held once again at the Crystal Lake Golf Club.
"It was a great day of golf, though I didn't win anything!" commented David Fine of Visconti & Boren, Ltd., longtime RIBA members.
"I had a wonderful time," added Joseph Frisella of Frisella Engineering. "Especially with the challenges we're facing in the market, it does you good to get out and relax with your fellow members now and then."
While nobody went home with the grand hole-in-one prize, a nifty new 2010 Nissan pickup truck from Anchor Auto Group, there were plenty of award winners, and many participants went home with door prizes following cocktails and a leisurely buffet dinner in the Crystal Lake Clubhouse.
When all was said and done, the day's top winners included:
1st Low Team - Dave Lombardo, Frank Lombardo Sr., Frank Lombardo Jr. and Greg Horton;
2nd Low Team - Dean DeSantis, Wayne Perry, Bill Ray and Doug Stewart;
3rd Low Team - Irving Beauchamp, Jeff Beauchamp, Rich McNeil and Tom Wickham.
There were special awards for:
Longest Drive - Chris O'Rourke
Closest to the Pin - Bill Provost

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
The industrial markets have never been stronger. What has happened is that the build out of Devens with new high-tech biotech manufacturing with housing to service these buildings serves as the connector required to really make the I-495 West market sizzle. Worcester has been the beneficiary
