Reese Commercial Real Estate Services has closed the sale of 36 John St., an office/flex building, on behalf of 7 Summits Realty LLC. 7 Summits purchased the 12,168 s/f mixed-use office/flex building for an undisclosed price.
Dale Reese, managing principal of Reese Commercial, represented 7 Summits Realty LLC, the buyer. Arnold Grant, of Arnold J. Grant Associates, Inc. and Linda Hicks of William Pitt Sotheby's represented Lightspace LLC, the seller.
7 Summits Realty will be leasing the building to 3-4 tenants. Freeman Companies LLC will be the lead tenant occupying 6,000 s/f on the second floor of the building.

The building is located on John St. which is west of Main St. near Park and Main Sts. Located close to Hartford's South Green and the CBD, 36 John St. has a storied past. Constructed circa 1920, the building served as the Equipment Maintenance Shop for Firehouse Engine Company 1. As detailed in the National Register of Historic Places, design elements include brick walls with stone and rows of 16 over 12 casement towering windows giving a Neo-Classical appearance to this old Firehouse.
