PROCON completes construction of 167,000 s/f Brightview Senior Living in Canton

Brightview Senior Living in Canton, Mass. Brightview Senior Living - Canton, MA

Canton, MA Final interior finishes are complete, and furniture is arriving in readiness for new residents hoping to make Brightview Senior Living their new home. PROCON completed construction on the new community that is owned by The Shelter Group in Baltimore. PROCON’s architects and engineers designed the 3-story building that is located at 125 Turnpike St. Since 2007, the two companies have collaborated on eight Brightview Senior Living communities throughout the Northeast.

The newly opened community features 160 residential apartments, including 95 independent living, 40 dedicated apartments for assisted living and 25 for Alzheimer’s and dementia care. Brightview communities also offer a specialized program and environment for dementia caregiving known as Wellspring Village, to enhance the lives of those living with memory limitations.

The 167,000 s/f building offers “village style” living designed for the unique needs of the older adult population. Its abundant features include housekeeping, dining, transportation, maintenance and chef-prepared meals. Residents may choose from a variety of spacious, comfortable and easy-to-manage apartment styles and floor plans. It also offers a wellness/fitness center, movie theater, beauty/barber shop, café, pub library/media room, elegant dining rooms and gathering spaces for seniors to enjoy.

One of Brightview Canton’s unique features is a quarter-mile walking path that loops through the surrounding wetlands and grassland areas. A PROCON project manager said, “We have gotten a lot of feedback from residents, who have commented on how much they like the walking path. In fact, the views along this path are among the best on the site.”

The Canton building’s design is unique in its architecture and layout, and echoes the style of New England’s historical Victorian mansions – with a mansard roof, porches, turrets and dormer windows with top quality construction and high-end finishes. The building’s exterior is also adorned by graceful courtyards around the property that are accessible from independent living units, or private for those receiving memory care.

According to the 2015 Akerman Real Estate Industry Outlook, “In the United States the number of people age 65 and older is projected to grow 51% by 2025.” As more baby boomers are retiring, or planning retirement, they are also living longer. Many of them prefer to age in place, and communities like Brightview Senior Living offers attractive options that allow them to receive appropriate care at each stage of life without having to relocate to other facilities.

The Canton location will be the 7th Brightview community in the State of Massachusetts.
