J.M. Electrical completes energy renovations at the Museum of Science

Boston, MA J.M. Electrical Company, Inc. has completed energy renovation projects at the Museum of Science. J.M. Electrical performed mechanical upgrades throughout the building and installed a new system for the recently opened Yawkey Gallery on the Charles River.

“Boston’s Museum of Science plays a leading role in educating and informing the public of the crossroads of technology and nature,” said Paul Guarracino, president at J.M. Electrical. “As an organization that stands at the same crossroads – providing technology that makes systems more efficient and helps to protect our environment by conserving energy – we are grateful for the opportunity to work with this great institution.”

As a result of J.M. Electrical’s work, the Yawkey Gallery, lobby and concourse have  lighting, fire alarm, power, and controls. In addition to internal system renovations, J.M. Electrical installed the backbone networks associated with new digital screens located in the Charles River Gallery and concourse as well as the relocation of the fire alarm annunciator to the new information desk in the lobby.

In addition, J.M. Electrical is also powering new, innovative hand-stampers adjacent to the exits patented by the Museum of Science.

“The additions and installations made by our team of expert staff will create a higher level of efficiency and quality service for visitors attending the Museum,” said Niall Black, project manager for J.M. Electrical.
