PM Construction Co. begins phase two of affordable housing project at 155 Danforth St. - designed by Archetype Architects

155 Danforth Street - Portland, ME

Portland, ME PM Construction Co. broke ground and started construction on a 20,000 s/f affordable housing project located at 155 Danforth St. The new four-story building will aid in filling a housing need by providing 30 apartment (one-bedroom and studio) units, that include parking on the ground level.

The West End is a downtown neighborhood in the ctiy and is noted for its architecture, history and greenspace. With careful planning and attention to detail Archetype Architects has designed the building to seamlessly fit the historic district.

St. Dominic’s School at 66 State Street - Portland, ME

PM completed the initial phase of the development in December of 2021. The project consisted of a renovation of the former St. Dominic’s School at 66 State St., creating 38 single room occupancy units on the adjacent property for women experiencing homelessness and/or struggling with a substance use disorder. In addition to the dwelling units, the three-story building was renovated to include multiple bath/shower rooms, an updated kitchen/dining room and office space.

The development of this multi-phase project is being led by Developers Collaborative and is thriving because of their creativity and public purpose. The project is a much-needed injection of affordable housing to the area.

Founded in 1988, PM Construction Co. specializes entirely in commercial construction and provides preconstruction consulting, design/build services and construction management services.
