Peabody Properties adds Phil C. Bradley Housing Partnership to property management portfolio

Boston, MA Peabody Properties, an affiliate of the Peabody Companies, a group of property management and real estate firms, continues to expand its portfolio of managed communities with the addition of the Phil C. Bradley Housing Partnership at 342 Shawmut Ave.

The property is located along Shawmut Ave. and Tremont St., an area of the city’s South End that experienced a revival at the end of the last century. It encompasses 13 brownstones built in 1920.

The Partnership was established in 1997 and named after Phil C. Bradley, a former city councilor and community activist who advocated for affordable housing and social justice. Since its inception, it has been recognized as a beacon of community and diversity and a bulwark against blight and community deterioration with a purpose to improve and transform the living conditions among low and moderate-income individuals in the ethnically diverse neighborhood.

“Imagine a building where the walls, once threatened by the expiration of subsidies, are now reinforced with a commitment to keeping the spirit of homeownership within reach for its residents,” said Luis Casiano, asset manager and project director of Bradley Properties.

“This property is more than a collection of 71 units,” said Melissa Fish-Crane, principal and CEO of Peabody Properties. “It is a vibrant community, home to people from all backgrounds and life experiences. We look forward to getting to know the residents at the Phil C. Bradley Partnership and to continue its mission to provide affordable housing and honor the legacy of its namesake.”

Recently passed legislation creates opportunities to meet CT’s changing energy needs - by Klein and Feinn

For decades, New England has had a summer-peaking power system, where the greatest energy use occurs on the hottest and most humid days, due to widespread use of air conditioning. But by the mid-2030s, electrification of the heating sector likely will result in a winter peak that’s higher than the summer peak.
